The Principal Investing team works alongside our fund partners to invest in a broad range of private equity transactions around the world.

The group’s objective is to become the premier co-investor and co-sponsor of private equity transactions by maintaining world-class deal diligence and execution capabilities, along with a timely and transparent investment approval processes.

The group’s activities range from taking relatively passive stakes in syndicated co-investments to co-leading larger-scale deals alongside our fund partners. As a significant source of capital, CPP Investment Board’s Principal Investing team is able to provide its partners with an effective alternative to teaming-up with competitors.

The size of our principal investments can vary from $20 million to over $500 million.
